Dr. Jennifer Lemacks

Bio

Dr. Lemacks is a minority health and health disparities expert with experience in cultural modification of interventions to promote healthier dietary behaviors. Her research portfolio includes managing over $2 million dollars in funded projects over the past five years. She is the director of the Mississippi INBRE Telenutrition ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ×, which supports nutrition research with Native American and African American communities. She has developed and directs the Mississippi INBRE Outreach Scholars program, which is a summer research program that utilizes students to support nutrition outreach among minority and underserved populations in the state. She has spoken at and organized numerous events with a variety of target audiences. Her talks have centered on culturally-derived solutions to address diet behaviors to ameliorate obesity and –related chronic diseases. She also focuses on measurement and assessment of dietary behaviors.
