Event/Programming Graduate Assistant
Maggie Kelly, a Hattiesburg native, graduated with her B.S. in Psychology (Applied Music minor) from The ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ×. She is currently in the process of earning her M.S. in Counseling Psychology. She hopes to develop a strong foundation in research and therapeutic practice prior to pursuing her PhD in Counseling Psychology. Maggie aspires to provide treatment within a correctional setting, identifying factors that influence criminal behavior and assessing the influence that intervention strategies have on offender conduct.
During her undergraduate studies, Maggie co-founded a student organization and campus resource that promoted sexual health literacy through presentations, workshops, and community outreach efforts. She was also selected to work under the supervision of Student Counseling Services and the Dean of Students through the Wellness Eagles pilot program, where she received specialized training on peer education and crisis prevention. Maggie is passionate about addressing barriers that prevent treatment-seeking behaviors by connecting students to resources based on mental health and wellness needs. Her current role as Programming Graduate Assistant in the Title IX office allows her to create engaging, collaborative opportunities for the campus community and initiate a conversation on accessibility and support in higher education.
